Henry's Drive Shiraz 2005- 750ML
The 2005 has a vibrant deep red color, tinged with purple. The nose displays a lively assortment of mulberried, boysenberried and plums with layers of dark chocolate, toasty oak and typical Padthaway menthol. The flavors on the palate are fleshy and mouth filling with conserve-like ripe berry fruit. A minerally tone on the mid-palate is complicated by soft, velvety tannins. This wine is robust and has great depth, yet elegant and completely balanced. It is well saturated all the way to the luscious creamy finish.
Wine Advocate
exhibits notes of espresso roast, blackberries, creme de cassis, flowers, and toasty new oak. Deep, rich, and layered, it is best consumed over the next 5-7 years.”
Score: 90.
Wine Spectator
Rich and ripe, with a strong licorice note pushing through the ripe blackberry and plum flavors, finishing a tad hot. Drink now through 2010.
